Multi-component drug discovery is awaited with increased knowledge of system perspective facilities. These approaches require intimate knowledge of the systems being modeled to al level at which it becomes possible to model the actions of perturbations in a predictable way. However such modeling is infancy and will take 20-30 years to be used in so called syncretic drug discovery.
In conclusion, the systems-based discovery of therapeutics probably represents the next frontier in drug discovery research.
